SHEDAN (Oils and Derivatives Company of North Africa) has been a distiller since 1944.

It was in 1956, after a freeze which decimated the orange trees of the Grasse region, that the founder developed culture of the bitter orange tree at Cap Bon. The climate of this region, the northeastern-most point of Tunisia is, in effect, similar to that of the South of France.

Today, SHEDAN processes one third of the global harvest of orange flowers.
This epoch also was the point of departure for a diversification of production which has led the company to the premier ranks of distillers in Tunisia.
In addition to Rosemary essential oil, SHEDAN has added all of the bitter orange products (cf. our product flyer) and Myrtle essential oil.

Our two companies have been partners for many years. Antoine Astier collaborated in the development of SHEDAN and was a member of the board beginning in 1957. He was later replaced by Jacqueline Destoumieux.

Today, the management is overseen by Rafia Slim.
